Definitions

User:
means any natural person who accesses or uses the Watania website, whether for browsing, engaging with services, or submitting personal data, in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

 Data Subject: A natural person about whom the entity holds personal identification information and protected health information/Personal Identifiable information and who can be identified, directly or indirectly, by reference to that information

Personal Identifiable Information (PII): Personally identifiable information (PII) is any data that could potentially identify a specific individual

Personal Health Information (PHI): Protected health information (PHI), also referred to as personal health information, is the demographic information, medical histories, test and laboratory results, mental health conditions, insurance information and other data that a healthcare professional collects to identify an individual and determine appropriate care.

Overview
This Privacy Policy for Watania Takaful General & Watania Takaful Family (“Watania Takaful”) websites and associated online portals - identified as digital services, has been formulated to assist Users to understand how their personal information will be treated by Watania when they use its digital services, as Watania objective is to make available a good experience and quality service to all Users. This policy is in alignment with Watania Takaful data Privacy and data protection policy which is based on UAE Federal Decree Law No. 45/2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (UAE PDPL) and Abu Dhabi Healthcare Information and Cyber Security Standard (ADHICS) Version 2.

By using the digital services or by otherwise giving us your information in any form, you will be deemed to have read, understood and agreed to the practices and policies outlined in this policy. Please note that Watania Takaful may amend this policy from time to time without prior notice. Users are advised to check this Policy on regular basis. If you do not agree with this policy at any time, you must immediately cease using our digital services and refrain from providing any personal information to us..

If you use the services on behalf of someone else (such as your child) or an entity (such as your employer), you represent that you are authorised by such individual or entity to accept this privacy policy and to provide their information.

Collection of Personally Identifiable Information while accessing Watania Takaful website
Whenever a User visits Watania Takaful Website, the server used by Watania Takaful Web Host will make a record of
● User IP Address,
● the date and time of User visit,
● the type of Internet Browser User uses

Unless otherwise stated Cookies used (if any) in any part of Watania Takaful website and/or digital services will NOT be deployed for collecting personally identifiable information (PII) or personal health information (PHI) of the data subject.
Note: Cookies are small computer files that can be stored in web surfers’ computers for the purposes of obtaining configuration information and analysing web surfers’ viewing habits. User may refuse to accept Cookies (by modifying the relevant Internet options or browsing preferences of User computer system). Therefore, User may not be able to utilize or activate certain available functions in Watania Takaful digital services.

Types of Personally Identifiable Information Collected during use of Watania Takaful Digital Services
As part of Watania Takaful digital services, User may be required to give her/his personally identifiable information including, but not limited to,

Specific purposes for which User personally identifiable information (PII) and personal health information (PHI) may be used include, but are not limited to, policy underwriting, claims assessment and processing, customer identity verification, payment collection, fraud prevention, regulatory and legal compliance, and reinsurance arrangements, in connection with the following digital services offered by Watania Takaful:

User Information that Watania Takaful collects may be stored and processed in and transferred between Watania Takaful and its partners operates, in compliance with the necessary data protection control measures as specified in Watania Takaful Company’s

Customer Consent
By consenting to this privacy notice you are giving us permission to process your personal data specifically for the purposes identified. Consent is required for Watania Takaful to process all types of personal data, but it must be explicitly given. Where we are asking you for sensitive personal data, we are always bound to tell you why and how the information will be used.

You may withdraw consent at any time by submitting ‘User Consent Withdrawal Request’ by writing to privacy@Watania.ae . Withdrawal of consent shall take effect immediately upon receipt of the request. Confirmation of processing and completion of necessary actions will be communicated within 30 days.

Your rights as a User
At any point while we are in possession of or processing your personal data, you, the User, have the following rights:
● Right of access – you have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you.
● Right of rectification – you have a right to correct data that we hold about you that is inaccurate or incomplete.
● Right to be forgotten – in certain circumstances you can ask for the data we hold about you to be erased from our records.
● Right to restriction of processing – where certain conditions apply to have a right to restrict the processing.
● Right of portability – you have the right to have the data we hold about you transferred to another organisation.
● Right to object – you have the right to object to certain types of processing such as direct marketing.
● Right to object to automated processing, including profiling – you also have the right to be subject to the legal effects of automated processing or profiling.
● Right to judicial review: if the Watania Takaful refuses your request under rights of access, we will provide you with a reason as to why. You have the right to complain as outlined below sections.

Can I find out the personal data that the organisation holds about me?
You as User, can request Watania Takaful to find out about the personal data that it holds and how its processed by writing ‘User Access Request’ to Watania Takaful at privacy@Watania.ae . You can request the following information:

● Identity and the contact details available with the Watania Takaful.
● Contact details of the data protection officer (DPO), where applicable.
● The purpose of the processing as well as the legal basis for processing.
● If the processing is based on the legitimate interests of the Watania Takaful or a third party, information about those interests.
● The categories of personal data collected, stored and processed.
● Recipient(s) or categories of recipients that the data is/will be disclosed to.
● Transfer of the personal data to a third country or international organisation, information about how the Watania Takaful ensure this is done securely.
● How long the data will be stored.Identity
● Information about your right to withdraw consent at any time.
● The source of personal data if it wasn’t collected directly from you.
● Any details and information of automated decision making, such as profiling, and any meaningful information about the logic involved, as well as the significance and expected consequences of such processing.

What forms of ID will I need to provide in order to access this?
Watania Takaful accepts the following forms of ID when information on your personal data is requested:e.g.: Emirates ID, Passport, driving licence.

Association with Third party websites/Services
The website / digital services may, from time to time, contain links to and from the websites of third parties. If you follow a link to any of these websites, please note that these websites have their own privacy policies and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for these policies. Please check these policies before you submit any personal data to these third-party websites.

Data Security
As part of its due care/ due diligence, Watania Takaful employs various data protection and data security measures to secure its Digital Services as part of its wider information security & privacy program which is based out of best practices like ADHICS standards. It is worth noting that such measures do not guarantee that use of the Watania Takaful Website and its digital services is invulnerable to all security risks, nor does Watania Takaful make any warranty, guarantee, or representation that use of the Watania Takaful Website and digital services is protected from all viruses, worms, and other vulnerabilities. The personal data collected shall be stored only till the storage is mandated by UAE PDPL, ADHICS or any other UAE existing laws and regulations. Data shall be purged upon the elapse of the retention time, mandated by law. It shall be noted that as a policy, Watania Takaful will not transfer customer personal data outside UAE without the explicit approval of Central Bank of UAE and/or Department of Health Abu Dhabi.

Addressing Customer Complaint associated with Watania TakafulDigital services
If you want to contact the Watania Takaful on data privacy related topics, have any grievance or you suspect a breach with respect to our use of your information, or if you have any complaint on handling your data, you may communicate such grievance to privacy@Watania.ae  which will be addressed by the  Watania Takaful’s Data Protection Officer (DPO), within 30 days.

If you wish to make a complaint about how your personal data is being processed by the Watania Takaful or its associated processors or how your data request has been handled, you have the right to lodge a complaint directly with the regional supervisory authority and the Watania Takaful’s data protection officer.

If Watania Takaful identify any data breach under any circumstances, the User will be notified immediately in customer e-mail ID, along with the procedural measures taken to handle / manage the breach.
